HanmiGlobal Middle East is pleased to reflect on a productive week in Riyadh, centred around the 3rd International Conference on Sustainability: Developments and Innovations, alongside several technical and professional engagements across the Kingdom.

The week began at Prince Sultan University, where Dr. Paul J. McKeown, CEO of HanmiGlobal Middle East and Chair of the Saudi Arabia Committee of the Institution of Civil Engineers, moderated a panel discussion on “Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) Towards ESG.”

The panel brought together leading voices from government, academia, and industry, including representatives from the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Yonsei University, and Northumbria University.

Discussions explored how PPP frameworks can support the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into infrastructure delivery, innovation ecosystems, and long-term economic development aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.

Dr. McKeown also expressed appreciation to Prince Sultan University and the conference organisers for creating a platform that fosters meaningful dialogue between academia, government, and industry. The continued engagement of the ICE Saudi Arabia Committee was also recognised for its role in supporting professional knowledge exchange and engineering leadership within the Kingdom.

A particularly encouraging aspect of the conference was engaging with the next generation of engineers and innovators. Conversations with students and young professionals highlighted the energy, creativity, and commitment emerging across the Kingdom’s future engineering community.

HanmiGlobal Middle East is proud to contribute to initiatives that encourage collaboration, knowledge exchange, and practical pathways toward sustainable infrastructure and development.

“Thank you to the organisers, speakers, partners, and students who contributed to an inspiring and forward-looking programme.”

Dr. Paul J. McKeown
